Wood Creek Lake

Wood Creek Lake is located in Laurel County about 6 miles northwest of London. The dam is a highway fill embankment on Interstate 75 about 9 miles north of London. This lake was completed in 1969. Facilities include a launching area, boat dock, and parking area. Boats, live bait, and tackle are available.

Rockcastle River

The Rockcastle River whose flow forms the border of Rockcastle and Laurel counties is one of Kentucky’s best whitewater streams. The river also holds good populations of smallmouth bass and rock bass. It offers something for everyone, whether it’s mild water for anglers and family trips, or challenging whitewater for the adventurous kayaker.

Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park

Between 1775 and 1796, over 200,000 pioneers traveled to Kentucky over the famous Wilderness Road which runs through Levi Jackson State Park in London. Park contains the Mountain Life Museum, McHargue’s Mill, Camping, Swimming, Recreation, and a memorial to the massacre of the McNitt Party.
